Former Pro Football Player Uses Isagenix to Educate Students on Peak Performance
Consultant Tony Mandarich has no qualms talking about his past—after all it’s the supplements that brought him to Isagenix®.
Having shot to fame in 1989 as the first-round draft pick for the Green Bay Packers, Tony was touted as being one of Michigan State University’s best football players. His performance received numerous accolades including two all-American, and two Big Ten Lineman of the Year awards, catapulting Tony into the professional limelight. He weighed in at 308 pounds; could bench press 225 pounds 39 times in a row, and was nicknamed “The Incredible Bulk” by Sports Illustrated magazine. He was a force to be reckoned with, but he also carried a dark secret that would surface during his professional career: he used steroids during college.
After a short stint with the Green Bay Packers (1989-1992) and the Indianapolis Colts (1996-1998), Tony retired in 1999 with a shoulder injury. Still, he wasn’t shy about his past and used the choices of his past to help teach others not to turn to unhealthy steroids to gain an edge in sports.
He went on to marry his Michigan State University sweetheart, Char, in 2004, moved to Scottsdale, Arizona and decided to turn his passion for photography into a second profession that today has morphed into a Social Media Company.
Through his business, he has meet hundreds of incredible people, one of which is his Isagenix sponsor, Jill B., who encouraged him to try the products.
Tony was convinced it would take at least three months before he would begin seeing results. He was shocked when he started to notice results in just two weeks.
Knowing what he knows today about steroid use, Tony only wishes he had Isagenix products back in college so that he could’ve taken advantage of the nutritional benefits its has on fueling athletic performance.
“Going to the gym, people always ask me what kind of supplements I take,” shares the still hulking father of four. “Now, I tell them that I actually stumbled upon a system that works: Isagenix.”
And at 46, Tony is seeing far too many people passing away at an early age.
“Quality of life is first and foremost,” says Tony.” I am no good to my wife and children if I am sick or I can’t walk because I am diabetic.”
In addition to running a full-time business, an Isagenix business and being a family man, Tony is also an avid public speaker who travels the country talking to corporations, high school students and young athletes about his life, and the right way to reach peak performance. He now takes his speeches a step further and recommends Isagenix as the healthy way to improve athletic performance.
